Veteran White House correspondent and columnist Helen Thomas has died Saturday at age 92, NBC News reported. The Gridiron Club and Foundation, Washington's historic press group, confirmed Thomas' passing to NBC News. Thomas, who was the first female member of the Gridiron Club, worked for 57 years at United Press International first as a correspondent, then as a White House bureau chief. She was the the first woman to join the White House Correspondents' Association, and the first woman to serve as its president.
